The Minotaur is usually saved by using him to blitz every turn, giving a Str 6 frenzy blitz most of the time, but on a team where every player has +1 Str blitz, there will be better opportunities to use someone else to blitz.Īt arm 9+ the minotaur is just a body bag waiting to happen anyway (I was kinda hoping BB2020 would change that to 10+) The Minotaur is especially bad in this team, because it’s the most flavour fitting build and yet the Minotaur is the most useless here. I usually go with the very bad sub par Minotaur + 11 line goats…īut 12 Line goats with 4 rerolls is a good build. Categories BB2020 Starting Rosters & Team Builds Tags chaos chosen Trading a much needed reroll to get an unreliable player into a team that already can burn through rerolls quickly just isn’t a trade off that I personally would go for. In reality though I think there is an obvious way to go for most coaches. When you first see the options available to a starting Chaos Chosen team it seems like there are quite a lot of choices to pick between. Is it worth it in the starting roster at the expense of a Blocker and reroll is the question you need to ask yourself. Combined with Frenzy the Minotaur will be the best at removing other players from the pitch. This makes it easier to get 3 dice blitzes in, though somewhat forces you to dedicate the blitz action on most turns for this player. A bit more tricky to use and slightly more fragile but it does get you the player who has the strongest starting strength when blitzing. Chaos Chosen with a Minotaur QuantityĪt just 10k more than the Chaos Ogre, the trade off to get a Chaos Minotaur into your starting lineup is very similar. You do get an odd 20k left over though, so you can either save that towards getting the Apothecary, or consider dropping it into some Dedicated Fans. The Ogre is a lot more reliable than the Troll which I think makes a good choice, but they are still less reliable than a Blocker and you’ve given up a reroll to fit the Ogre in. This time due to the extra cost of an Ogre it is at the expense of one of your Blockers. Similar to being able to fit the Troll in, you have to give up a reroll. Having the Troll adds a bit of extra strength to an already fairly strong team but the cost of doing so is a much needed reroll and for a player that is unreliable. You drop down to two rerolls which gives you enough funds to trade a Beastman for the Troll. The Troll is the easiest of the Big Guy options to fit into a starting lineup. Get an Apothecary asap and then save up for more players. I think this is the clear best way to start a Chaos Chosen team, unless you want to try and shoehorn one of the Big Guys in from the outset. To go really reroll heavy you will have to drop two Blockers down to Beastmen, but that just weakens you too much on the pitch. You also get a solid amount of rerolls to start which as I stated at the start of this article, will really come in handy. You get all four of the Blockers up front to maximise the MVP landing on them. This is probably the most obvious way to start the team, especially as you get the miniatures to achieve this with a single box of the official Games Workshop Chaos Chosen team. Loner (4+), Frenzy, Horns, Mighty Blow (+1), Thick Skull, Unchannelled Furyįavourd Of… (choose either): Undivided, Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh, Tzeentch QTYĪlways Hungry, Loner (4+), Mighty Blow (+1), Projectile Vomit, Really Stupid, Regeneration, Throw Team Mateīone Head, Loner (4+), Mighty Blow (+1), Thick Skull, Throw Team Mate Whatever way you go, Chaos Chosen teams are tough to play out of the gate until you start getting some developed players.

In a reversal of that change you now also have the additional choice of a Troll. This harks back to an older ruleset where they had a choice between Minotaurs and Ogres but since nearly every team always took an Ogre they got restricted to just the Minotaur. Rerolls are even more useful for teams that lack skills which makes it hard to fit in an Apothecary to protect those pricier players.Īlso in a new twist to Blood Bowl Second Season, Chaos Chosen teams can now again choose from a choice of three different Big Guy players. Chaos Chosen teams have expensive players and also lack much in the way of starting skills.
